Lol of the Lonely Pine

The one who dazzles - have you seen that one ?
Upon him look !
A sleepless stream in search of him I run,
A restless brook.
In far off woods, a lonely pine I stood
Till he appeared,
My woodcutter, and came to cut the wood.
His fire I feared,
Yet though he burn my logs, behold I shine,
My ashes wine !

What a moving piece! The imagery of a laid down pine representing her submission to her lover is so incredibly deep. And the line "My woodcutter, and came to cut the wood. His fire I feared", it really encapsulates her conflicting emotions on love and fear. Overall a vivid display of human emotions tied to nature's elements. Loved it!

Just red this poem & wasn't much impressd. Feels like same old story, lonely pine waitin' 4 the woodcutter. "In far off woods, a lonely pine I stood" &, surprise, more fear in "His fire I feared". Didnt feel any new. I guess some like this nostalgic stuff? Not really my cup of tea. 😕🍵 Still, always good to see diff perspectives. 🤷‍♂️
