I've listened to life and it felt like a breeze
when there was something hiding in me.
The struggle is stuck, the mind a block
but eventually, I loved the way it looked
It takes a good step to learn what we know
we'll break our own hearts wherever we go.
Slow down a bit and think of your dreams,
then run with the wind to know what it means.
A flower is picked to help you through
the moments of life to see what you do.
Deep in the dark where there's no light,
it brings out the sunshine if you can fight.
Pick up the pieces to find where you are
I'll be beside you. I'll be your guiding star.
Footprints stamp on the ground you've walked
cast out those shadows and allow God to talk
It hurts a little and cuts just like a knife,
take it or leave it but think about life
To give and to take is a bond not to break,
thoughts that are lost are found when you wake.
Sleep on the streets on a cardboard box,
and I'll bring you a door so it can knock.
A fist full of anger turns out to be wrong,
there at that moment when everything's gone
Think up some dreams and write them down,
work out the wizardry and act like a clown.
Brightness believes in shining some thought
so that we remember the things we taught.
Have a nice life, I'll wish you alright.
the relief of a prayer makes you sleep all night.
That's where a life is, it's where it resides,
paint out a picture with the Mona Lisa beside.

You make me happy, Fay Slimm with your beautiful comments. I thank you from deep within my heart.
So beautiful and well versed. Keep them coming Kevin!!!!
Thank you, and I will sure try and keep them coming.
Your welcome!
I couldn't agree more kevin. Gems of positivity are all around us, sometimes we are blinkered to them by our mood. I found myself writing the words "love the world and it will love right back at you" recently, probably one of the most profound things ever written by me. I see the essence of those word all through this piece of yours.
If only people could come together with a little more to learn about the undercurrent patterns of our lives. You'll have to have deep and great imaginations to create your own beautiful life in your own world. Don't ever lose those dreams because dreaming is okay.
I'm very aware of the riches in life and the fruits that it brings, but I run the other way because I like to stay humbled in such a way that I'm already happy and I have everything I need. People forget about their own soulful beauty because the working life is slave driven which means once you start the routine of a society who only want to be rich. I don't really understand what it all means. If I was wealthy enough I'd give my money to the people who need it most. Especially children who are dying of starvation and wars, I would take them all in and give them a life worth living for.
Beyond wanting to be able to provide for my own needs i am not materialistic at all so i do understand that which you say. I enjoy the riches of the simple things around me especially in spring / early summer when the countryside comes alive. It's good to be alone to appreciate simple things like that in one's own way.
your a better poet then me
kevin. keep on striking the match
until it lights.
My matchstick is always alight, my friend, which means my pen will flow as it does within its creational beauty. To say I'm better than you is a fault. I am an infant still learning the language in which I think and write poetry, but there are a million more poems to come. It's an endless journey so to keep on writing is the only way forward I can see. Keep on writing I will. Thank you for your comments.
ill keep striking the matches until they light.
