To Be a Ghost

Sound

A ghost

To be a ghost

That’s what I’ve always wanted

Invisible

To the eye

With only ephemeral moments of presence

Feared

Yet respected

By those knowing of my existence

Able

To project

My will upon my dominion

But a phantom

Is confined

To the place that which it haunts

Not free of

But imprisoned by

The moments and places from life

Death

Cannot take

All memory from the mortal coil

Perhaps

To be a ghost

Is not all it’s cracked up to be
