Ode to a Stuffed Rabbit

cutelilcardinal

I'm sorry I always hold you so tight
As I am trying to sleep in the middle of the night

I'm sorry for constantly adjusting the volume
Of the radio whose sound fills the dark room

I'm sorry for thrashing about in my sleep
And for tears in your fur as I quietly weep

Most of all, I'm sorry if you ever feel neglected
By the one you always made feel so protected

I'm sorry if in time we grow apart
But you'll always have a special place in my heart

I admit to a stuffed bear although I shouldn't because I claim way too old for that but he hides behind one of my pillows and if I get the mean blues in the middle of the night he's there .... this was the most adorable little poem....... never grow to be ashamed of him!
