a mind-wandering smoke

Abora

7/29/18 12:15AM

glide, glide on columns of smoke

updraft gracefully for you’ll never make the boat

burn down all your wells

so that you may get above

the murky streets

and clopping feet

of your homeward tolling bell

moving forward kicks back rocks

even if you don’t move too fast

your nerves will dull

and your voice will lull

whenever you try and take stock

leave all your horrors behind

there’s a better feature ahead

always be wayward

and flowing deadwood

to keep your bones in line
