Pure Protectings

Tune: St James (Courteville)

('Thou are the way, by thee alone')

Psalm 12

*******

Help, LORD, for the godly ceases

Is as [if] they deceases

Faithful fall from among mankind

None good or true we find

They speak vanity ot each one

To every daughter, son

Flatter with lips and double heart

Deceitful be their part

The LORD shall cut them off, for they

Do not good, [nor] right things say

They have said, With our tongue will we

Prevail, who our lord be?

For the oppressed, the LORD, he will

Arise, come help them still

And will hear sighs of the needy

Will set them in safety

The words of the LORD pure words are

None of them spoil or mar

They are as silver purified

As in a furnace tried

Tried seven times to  perfection

There be no blemish, none

You, LORD, shall keep the poor, needy

Safe in you they shall be

You from the wicked them preserve

They trust in you, you serve

Though wicked walk on every side

Where vilest ones reside

The gist of this passage of poetic thought rings true as the needy believer will be blessed with riches of heaven. A lovely read Orchi.
