Things changed that day

Poetic Dan

It was the 1st of July
Our spirits were high
We practice singing
One final time

They called her down
I could not attend
My heart was racing
Until the end

Having to now wait
For anothers fate
Texting every single day
Hoping for a getaway

Sadly it was no
But she didn't care
The song she sang
Was soul satisfying
We spread it everywhere

You can't count on us
We're the air you breathe
When you feel like drowning
We'll be the air you need
With our heartfelt melody

  • Comment from author about the poem: I was so chuffed when I asked Jorja (daughter) if she wanted to enter a singing competition that she was brave enough to do it and for the amazing song she picked.

Well, if she actually sung it, she would have won it. There was only her and me in the competition! heehee. I won a cat show. Not for a cat, for me whining!

                Dan,

                A great George Eliot quote!

Just finished reading her novel, “Middlemarch in Spring”!

                A fantastic literary work!

                Did Jorja enjoy her birthday?

Thank you, I find it so hard to have time to read. Can't even keep up on here lol

She had a wonderful day, nice private pool in a house I'm(partner) are getting paid to stay (two big dogs) and lots of cake. Then the fun continues every day after 😉
                  Thanks for asking
