Drowning

she_was_torture

Reaching for the stars, fulfilling dreams;

It's all a false hope, because you reach when you are drowning

You grab for something to hold onto to keep yourself from going under.

When your head is already below the surface, when you're in too deep to come out.

Spiraling downward, into the depths of whatever mess is your life

Screaming and kicking, but only bubbles make it out.

Others drift by, not noticing and not caring

Everyone has their problems, but they seem like simple inconveniences to those who are in deeper than they can go.

Reaching. Looking for a way to get out.

Searching for something to save you, realizing only you can save yourself.

When your hand breaks the surface.
