Horizons

David.A-J

We don't see all horizons clearly,
some seem far and some seem near
Some of us see false horizons
masked by clouds of hurt and fear
To some the opaque mists of morning
never clear to show the day
They never see the open path
or tread upon a wider way.

If mistyness defiles your vision,
distorting images in view
changing your remembered dreams,
and thoughts that once you held as true
Perhaps you need a better vision
to view life in a brighter light
to find a place where fog and haze
don't marr the clearness of your sight

You'll want to see the dawn's first breaking
to see the early sun arise
To see it's golden fingers spreading
light across the silken skies
You're going to rise and see the dawn,
to see the early morning's blush
To feel the air all crisp and bright,
surrounded by a natured hush

and when you get that clearer sight
of broad horizons lit by sun
where all your loved ones live and love,
where all the people think as one
You'll have the time to share your life
to show there is a better way
To bring your loved ones from the night
into the glory of the day.
