Paddle Back Down

Edthepoet

You ain't gonna find the purpose of your life, in a YouTube video with a million likes, you ain't gonna find the one who lights the fire of love in your eyes, based on filtered pictures of both your best sides and a mutual swipe right, my friend I think you need to go outside, I know you took an almighty nose dive, but I'm a big believer in the notion that nothing quite heals like time, and if we're both being honest it's been a little while, since we've seen that famous charming smile..

..If you don't climb back into the saddle, if you don't at least begin to paddle back down, from up shits creek somehow, every single 'could have been', will pass you by as you sink, further and further into that 'just one more' drink, as you list each and every 'never been' to the part time barman who's not really listening, don't get lost inside a moment of anxiety, that will freeze all of the components you need to become who you were born to be. I know you gave up hope and left yourself feeling nothing but lonely, but my friend you've always got a friend in me.
