The Gas Station Rose

Clark

i've been falling down low

while i'm smoking up the sky

i'll watch the clouds go by

and remember your hand in mine

chasing all of my dreams

always falling behind

you are not my man

but my heart craves your mind

i remember the rose

on my dashboard that night

the gas station rose

that made my heart blind

i'll love you forever

even when i begin to cry

on the road going home

on this Sunday night drive

- do you know what tomorrow is

This is great. End of a love but not the end of the world. A refreshing reality check compared to so many 'oh i've lost you, i shall morn forever and rivers of tears shall bathe my life' type poetry versed upon MPS.
Love the pictures you paint in my mind here.
