A daddy’s girl

chana

Daddy’s little girl

Young and so heartless

She didn’t know the world would be so small

She ran like the wind

With dirt roads and horses

She could touch the sun with her palm

Other kids beside her, holding each other’s hand

We all had one thing in common , our mom

And even though my skin tone didnt match my sisters

Our bond will ever be so strong

Tell daddy I’m not little

Strong and independent

She knew the walls around her will not confine

She flew like a bird

With poise and such vengeance

And broke the cycle that will never be defined.
