Mindfulness

lost.in.words

People do not have a glue that keeps them by eachothers sides, they have to hold on despite life that tries to pull friendships apart. The people that fight to stay together are the ones worth so much more then you can give them. But the people that let go and leave are something that should be easy to let go.

This is where your mind and heart will never agree. Your mind will tell you they didn’t make the effort to stay so they aren’t worth your effort. But your heart, now that will hold onto every memory of them and keep you wondering what if they didn’t leave or what if they did try their hardest to stay. Sometimes trying your hardest isn’t enough.

Yet through all my losses I have learned only one thing: Never wait for your mind and heart to agree, live your life listening to your mind, your heart will catch up eventually.

I love this, and the end of this poem is exactly what I needed to hear. Beautifully said.
