You see her

serenity-poetry

Loneliness lives in her eyes,

Pain lingers behind her smile.

The weight she carries on her shoulders is painted all over her face.

You see through her facade,

Though she tries so damn hard,

To bury her anguish.

To revel in vanquish.

But you see her.

The real her.

Not the girl under the mask,

Laughing and dancing,

Drinking from the flask.

She can’t fool you,

You see what’s true.

You see what she hides,

What resides inside.
