Painfully Happy

skyebellasario

Looking at the photo frames,

I see what everyone else sees day to day.

A girl with a cheshire cat smile.

An infectious aura of happiness.

Wide, vibrant eyes.

Cascading wavy hair.

They can never know the truth

About the picture perfect girl.

The tears that roll down her cheeks

As she wonders,

Why she can't be what everyone expects

All the time.

A battle rages inside her mind,

She never lets anybody know

The sadness she feels

Trying to always smile.

The girl in the photo frame

Is always painfully happy.
