Alone

Crystal Hope

I'm tired of computer screens.

I'm tired of cell phones.

I'm tired of no people.

I'm tired of being alone.

You wait everyday

for someone to reach out.

So you try to,

but you are left in a lot of doubt.

You lay in bed

with depression and anxiety.

You think you are a bad person

for thinking oh poor me.

But it hurts every day

that someone is living their life

and you are crying in bed

all day and all night.

People don't want to interact

and I don't know why.

Hello is so simple

and all you say is goodbye.

People wonder how

suicide is so high.

People feel alone

and that is the reason why.

If you pick up your phone

and talk to someone in need

instead of checking memes

or refreshing your newsfeed.

Last week, UK initiated a new ministerial position - Minister of Loneliness
Many giggled when they heard this
But the reality is that a greater share of the population is now suffering from this affliction
And we are isolating ourselves more and more, conjoined to our technology.
    Thnx for sharing
