Dilemma

Baylee

Koi fish swim inside

the pond of my mind

nibbling at the edges of my dreams

distorting the colors

from yellow, green, and blue,

to black, orange, and white

Often times

they forget to add the splashes of orange

creating dreams of black and white

the colorless images playing as a movie

and I simply an onlooker

The black and white

bleeds into my reality

sucking the living color from my vision

The koi of my mind

refuse to restore the color to my reality

for only under one condition will they return what is mine:

I release them from the cage of my cognizance

But truly

it is a dilemma

for I cannot live

without them.
