Flickering Lights

biraj

These days, the lights seem to have dimmed a bit

And as if an overwhelming flare broke the circuits

Of wires attached to the bulbs of my life

Your flare, as infinitesimal a second as it might have been

Set ablaze my existence, and turned it into ashes

While the monotone of regular lights came flashing back on

It was never enough

Therefore, love, the lights in my life seem to have dimmed a bit

And it seems like it will never get brighter again
