Love like Death

everlong

To the woman I gave my heart

She left with no reason

Should have known from the start

She would commit this treason

The pain of losing her

Took away all my might

Dead is that ember

No longer will it light

All of these women

Wearing such a dull hue

Only your eyes would glisten

Showing me what seemed true

However her love was like death

As it took my last breath
