My secret life with autism

Birddie Jane

My whole life

Has been a secret

A giant stew of denial

Day by agonizing day

I tried to prove

Everybody wrong

I was so adamant

So determined

For countless years

I believed my own lie

I was scared

To face the truth

But then

I met you

You have lived

Unafraid

Unashamed

You didn't hide from the world

Pretending to be

Somebody different

You have taught me

To be proud of who I am

You have showed me

To live life

How I was meant to

You have found me in the shadows

And given me new light

Thank you

For showing me

How wonderful life can be

With Aspurger's  syndrome
