On the solace of my shoulder

Edthepoet

Playing those songs they
Won't help it make sense
Watching this film it
Won't change a thing

I know you're angry
I know you're scared
I know that lately
I haven't been there

But I've got an idea
And we've got one shot
Runnings probably not the answer
But honey it's the only one left for us

Drink up your poison
Cry your tears out
Then me and you babe
We're leaving this town

North on the highway
We'll drive through the night
Until we find a place where
You can stand the day light

Sat on the roadside
The sun starts to rise
You take hold of my hand
And squeeze it so tight

I can't make sense of
The words that you scream
I can't make sense of
Who you thinks listening

On the solace of my shoulder
Your head can forever tilt
Until we grow older
And roll over that hill

I'll write you some poems
I'll write you some songs
I know it's not enough but
Honey it's all I've really got

Ill buy you a new dress
Take you out Saturday night
We'll make the most of
Whatever trouble we find

We'll take them all on
Or dance till we fall
I only wanna see you once
Look like you feel ten feet tall

They'll be none the wiser
But those wide blue eyes
Can freeze time in a moment
Worth more than money can buy

I'll build you a new home
With my bare hands
I'll never leave you alone
Because I understand

I'll start us a new life
Away from the pain
I'll hold back the landslide
Until you can breathe again.

I'll get us to new heights
Above and beyond
I'll scale this mountain side
You're on my back now hold on

Don't worry I've got you
Don't panic you're fine
Don't worry I love you
No matter your state of mind

I'll never let you fall behind.
