Wandering Heart

SG Wilson

Wandering heart of this my dreary soul

Total temptation, loss of control

Nameless faces of people I've  seen

Blocked of this memory, no recollection it brings

This urge to love, this life to share

The warm sensation of knowing someone is there

Emptiness prevails in the vision of my soul

Lost in love, no happiness I find

No vision of a future, no acknowledgement of the past

No desire to fulfill a life passing much too fast

A life gone stagnant, a mind to waste

A search for some tomorrow, recklessly in haste

No ambition, no future, reality afar

No goal to accomplish, no vision of tomorrow

In desperation I search for a life requiring no change

To allow me to be me with reality in range

To focus on the values I hold on to so dear

To strive to be my best, no challenge I fear

To get on with my life, what was meant to be

That is to reclaim the person who was raised to be me.
