Question Marks

SheWasTheSun

Is the silence just as deafening

on your side of the world?

Or is the pain lessening

without your favorite girl?

Are your thoughts screaming

and pounding through your scull?

Or is the emptiness freeing?

Do you revel in the lull?

Are you even empty at all?

Is there a gaping hole in your chest?

Or have you let yourself fall

for a new hopeless mess?

Does she fill the gaps and spaces

I've left for the time being?

Or is it my rebel heart which chases

horrid tales not worth reading?

Question marks are the ugliest symbols

And no one comprehends

Until they take up every wrinkle

Of thought yet to be penned
