 There is a feeling of betrayal

When you are insulted by your husband time after time

 

 

Trembling

Uneasy

Wounded by each insult 

All the inspired moments

All the gleaming thoughts

All your happiness

Along with the secret knowledge of believing in yourself are leaving your mind

 

But one day

By craving life

By hope and healing

By crushing the weight of pain beneath a gray sky

Your anguished spirit beating against your mind

And you

Wake up

With a thousand happy dreams swirling around your heart
