She Will Listen
For these words to be uttered unrestrained, cutting every gilding they ever were or would ever be
They must make all pen fumble to record
And hopefully she will listen to the waves of my heart
A supernova one may say; my missive for her gentle eyes to read
And between the words 'I' and 'you' the letters may be asking too much
They may speak Arabic or English with a child-like intonation
Knitting the one sacred word, for by Allah they must quell any and all valedictions
She will listen.. I hope
As I dredge up fire and water in the same breath
And who knows? Perchance, she will say yes
