The Sunlight Hymn

AnxiousMane

O, Sun, blessèd Sun,

How the Dark overcame me!

How it conquered my mind and made Prudence flee!

O, Sun, blessèd Sun,

How lost I would be!

Neither sword nor spear could slay the Dark beast.

But Sun, blessèd Sun

Casts light upon the Dark,

Driving back the fell beasts which have rent me apart.

Great Sun, blessèd Sun:

My shield against Death;

My guardian, my keeper until my last breath.

O, Sun, blessèd Sun,

The day has finally come.

Victory crowns me, for my journey is done.

O, Sun, blessèd Sun,

Please cast down your rays

And keep the fell horrors of the Dark away!

Dear Sun, blessèd Sun,

I shall not forget;

Your warmth I shall keep in the foul oubliette.

Farewell, blessèd Sun,

For now we must part.

With courage, once again, I shall brave the Dark.
