The Young Grandiose Dreamer of the Bourse

The Young Grandiose Dreamer of the Bourse

A dreamer she may well be, with her head in the clouds

With grandiose notions that lacks any kind of reality

But what her cynical friends and family didn’t know

She was about to have one of her many unlikely successes.

One day, with her head in the clouds she invested her savings

With a pharmaceutical company through a broker at the Bourse –

A safe investment for her first foray into the world of commerce.

Her father thought she’d lost her senses by her risky market gamble

But shrugging off his concerns she put her faith in her fiscal intuition.

The shares fluctuated for a few months and she began to question her investment

Until one day the company announced trials for a new medicine formula.

The company’s price went through the roof and she made a small fortune.

Delighted with her investment she redeemed ninety percent of her stock

And gambled it all on a company she had an inkling their stock would rise.

Within a short time the stock rose dramatically and so did her fortune.

She continued this formula of success and built a healthy portfolio

Of investments in blue chip stocks, bonds, investments and equities.

The dreamer who most thought would fall flat on her face, or worse,

With no future other than to be a dreamer on the losing side of life

Was now a winner and highly regarded as a beacon of fiscal rectitude,

And far from the fool and wayward dreamer others thought her to be

She became a multi millionaire without any effort apart from confidence

And the ability to know when to invest and sell to receive the highest yields.

Her yardstick was always to take ten percent of any profits and reinvest the rest.

She purchased a penthouse apartment that she always dreamed of

On the exclusive avenue Montaigne with a stunning view of the Paris.

She traveled the world in style to places that were once a fanciful dream.

All that was missing from her life was a partner to share her good fortune with.

She had many a man running after her professing love but none hit the mark

Then all was to change one day when visiting the Bourse, and there he was,

The man who would make her life complete – the man she had all but given up on.

The dreamer with her head in the clouds who most thought of as a loser

Was now, not just rich and successful but with a love to share her good fortune with.
