Dealing with adversity

A

And so he walks.

Each step, a little closer to home.

Each step, a little further from fear.

There's always going to be rough paths ahead,

but he knows now—

he knows that he cannot avoid the adversity

that the cold, harsh, unforgiving reality will bring;

but only face it on, head first.

with open arms

of hope and desperation.

Accepting his defeat and moving on,

wherever it may visit him.

For as a creature of the cruel and defenseless humanity,

Wailing in its own puddle of sin;

preparation for the worst to come is all he can do.

And dream for the best to happen

is all he ever wants to do.
