promised

You promised to never leave, you told me that you would always be there for me, you told me that nothing came before me. You said I was your soulmate the one you wanted forever, you said you loved me with all of your being. You promised to never hurt me or betray me. You said you would provide for me and help me make a happy home, you told me I was beautiful and that I made your soul happy, you asked me to stand by you when you couldn’t stand alone. I cared for you and I loved you dearly. But today all those promises were broke, today all your words mean nothing. Today you left me standing alone. Today I will learn to forgive because you taught me a lesson, never love someone who can go days without talking to you, never love someone who makes you a last priority, but mostly never love someone who loves their pride more than anything.
