"The Rules"

AlinaVanderson

These are the rules you must obey

Repeat and recite them everyday

You must learn to speak what is right and what is wrong

But if you have the power to change it you must hold your tongue

Always talk from your heart

Just as long as it doesn't set you apart

Show no weakness

And feel real pain

Speak no nonsense

Take the worlds name in vain

Head to the will of a strangers touch

Love yourself but not too much

Give into the pressure

Contaminate yourself

Place your pride and power

Neatly on a shelf

Listen to commands from people you've never met

Stare for hours at the television set

Ignore the oppression of your brothers and sisters

Bleed the temptation of hypocritical blisters

Obey these rules and you might just see

We're not so different

You and me
