A Cat For The Family

A Cat For The Family

We need a new cat

To take the other’s place

He’ll be a member of the family

And enjoy many days

We think a tabby good

Either yellow or gray will do

With it understood

A grand cat scratches too

He will catch some birds

At our feeder filled with seed

And mom will be disturbed

To find feathers of the deceased

There are lizards everywhere

That he’ll have to control

Whether little skinks

Or green anatoles

We need the cat to purr

And let us pet him some

No matter if he is disturbed

When his tail is pulled for fun

At times he’ll be aloof

And ignoring us in fact

And we’ll want him even more

To come meowing back

Ahh yes, everyone should have a cat - or dog, or both. Except if living in high-rise flat. A fine write w c.

Thanks, orchidee. We have cats and dogs- and they are like family.
