Take Me With You

cutelilcardinal

“Take me with you,” I say in light hearted fun,

As we talk until our time is done.

“Take me with you,” I murmur as I cry in your car,

My teary eyes shining brighter than stars.

“Take me with you,” I think on your very last day,

It won’t be too long before you’re miles away.

“Take me with you,” I whisper the minute you leave,

Though I know now is not the right time to grieve.

“I wish you took me with you,” I say to the sky,

As I remember our heartfelt goodbye.

“Why couldn’t you take me with you?” I ask the night,

As I recover from yet another family fight.

“Come back, take me with you,” I tell you at last,

I know if you could, you’d be here in a flash.

“Take me with you,” I sigh as I fight through the nights,

Dreaming of when we can be together for the rest of our lives.
