Nasty Nihilism

Gary Edward Geraci

a zero-sum game?

what lies beyond is the risk

Love IS or isn’t

  • Comment from author about the poem: A fitting piece for my 100th submission. Fun, finite worldly, selfish pleasures and sin = +1 The loss of eternal life with God and His infinite Love = -1 The sum is zero (0). At minimum, we should encourage the study of ‘Pascal’s Wager’; carefully - as I did - prior to reverting back to the Catholicism of my youth. Does this mean a Christian life cannot be joyful and rewarding. Absolutely not! A non-zero sum game after all becomes 1+1=2; or even more precisely stated: 1+1+God = joyful eternity beginning now, this very moment! Pray with me: ”For the rest, brethren, be strengthened in the Lord and in the might of his power. Put on the armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the Principalities and Powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness on high. Therefore take up the armor of God, that you may be able to resist the evil day, and stand in all things perfect.” Ephesians 3:10-13
