Would you go back to the fountain?

Edthepoet

Words left unsaid
Though they should
Have been shouted

I never guessed
it was me
In your thoughts

Words stuck in chest
Coz that's not
How it sounded

I never knew I
Was the one
In your songs

If I did
do you think
It would of counted
For something more
Than I offered you

If you could
Would you go
Back to the fountain
For something more
Than the promise of youth

Can you remember
The first time
That you doubted

I would become
Someone you
Could rely on

Was it your mother
And the lies
That she founded

I had no chance
Because of where
I come from

If I did
do you think
It would of counted
For something more
Than I offered you

If you could
Would you go
Back to the fountain
For something more
Than the promise of youth
