Days from love

They say that you fall in love three times in your entire life. That each time you do it is meant to teach you something. I don't believe this to be true because there is no way that I could ever fall in love after you. See, I have loved before. Sometimes for years, other times only for a moment, but when it comes to you I have fallen in love forever. 349 days. That's how long it's been since the day we first met. 349 days since I first laid eyes upon your smile that was so perfect I had to fight the urge to capture a photo of it forever. 349 days since something in me was drawn to something in you. You. With your deep brown eyes and playboy smile. Your dark locks falling to the edge of your eyebrow. I think part of me knew upon those first moments that I was yours. 351 days since our first date where you told me that you liked the way the sun shined on my face. 351 days since you kissed me and told me you liked the way my lips taste. 351 days since my heart stopped in it's place. Every day for nearly a year all I think about you my dear. 

264 days. 264 days ago you left me. You told me there was someone else. I felt my heart stop beating for a moment before I feel it fall the way glass does in the movies when shocking news is delivered. In slow motion and loudly. I could hear it shattering in my ears almost loud enough for you to hear it too. I felt my eyes swell with the threat of tears and suddenly the spilled like water from a crack in a dam. Slowly and then all at once. 

264 days since I have felt whole. 264 days since I've seen you. Held you. Kissed you. 264 days and I'm still not whole. I'm convinced that upon us meeting you captured a piece of my soul that day we met so tell me why you haven't returned it yet.
