Too Late

Tiger.Autumn

No one cares; until it's too late.
No one cares; until they're at your grave.

That is when they'll cry.
That is when they'll finally recognize.

Oh, how we take each other for granted.
The way we tear each other down.

And only when someone's heart stops beating;
do we feel fulfilled?

Only when they stop breathing;
we realize the damage we've done.

So tell me this-
Will you care about me now, or when it's too late?

  • Comment from author about the poem: In this day, we live so carelessly. We don't take the time to think about how our actions impact others. Often times, we go about our own selfish agendas. And one day, when we lose someone, either through suicide or other causes, we realize how we may have affected them. So be kind. Be there, and care, before it's too late. I myself have suffered loss. And many times looking back, I see where I took someone for granted, or where I may have broken them down. I myself have also felt pushed to the edge.
