Soft and Slow

sylviasearcher

Dreamer sinking drowning down

Floating body lifeless now

Waters rush and run and flow

Carry her body, soft and slow

Soft and slow

Like her endless heart

Soft and slow

So the end is the start

The rapid racing rush no more

Leaping, shouting across stage floor

Cold and still and pale of face

Soft and slow, resets the pace

Soft and slow

Like her warmest dream

Soft and slow

Patience grants her scene

Through ancient forest dense with living

Warm waters whisper hope forgiving

Brooks babble and trickle and dissolve all strife

Soft and slow, back to life

Soft and slow

Like the desire of dawn

Soft and slow

At the promise of morn

Soft and slow

Simple synchrony

Soft and slow

Slow and soft

Wet from the waters

Rising aloft

Soft and slow

Dreams unforgot

  • Comment from author about the poem: I wasn't sure what to call this so went with the obvious. It started as dead in the water but that didn't feel right. I hope it explains itself
