On The Family Farm

On The Family Farm

I enjoy the family farm

And spend my weekends there

At my parents’ home

With animals everywhere

There is an old wood stove

That quickly heats the house

And there before the dawn

We slowly move about

We have a big breakfast

And prepare for our work

There is bacon and biscuits

Each morning always served

We also enjoy fresh eggs

That the chickens lay

And I’m thankful for the hens

That scratch around each day

Dad and I will work

And when exhausted come back home

Every weekend there

With the farm all he’s known

When the weekend is over

I return to my place

And for the next week long

Remember my getaways
