Righteous Ink

HangingbyaHalo

If I held your hand and showed you my way,

Would you have the courage to place one foot in front of

the other?

If I told you that the fear of God and damnation is not what

motivates me to help heal the world,

Would you be curious to know my point of view or would

you label me "ye of little faith"?

If I whispered in your ear all the times I have picked up

pain with my bare hands to shield others from the strife,

Would you have the strength to listen without judgment?

I do not condemn your kindness,

or the words of faith that cross your lips,

for it holds the same effect,

The idea is the same

Feed the hungry

Be strong for the weak

Speak positivity into this world

To Enforce the good and reduce the evil

Holding out your hand to feel someone else's pain

Is not made more impressive

by the book, you tote in the other.

But isn't that the concept of the words that adorned its pages

This is not a competition

Yet more often than not

I am viewed as damned

Not due to character

Or impact

But because the books I read

and the words I believe were written by another man's hands.
