Loneliness

Azura Nightsong

I don’t care I say

Casually

To the friend beside

She can’t hear the grinding gears

I don’t care I say

Through a frown

Then just shrug

They don’t seem to notice

I don’t care I say

Through gritted teeth

As the lie eats me

And the universe unravels
