Theta was here
Read at night
- Twas a cold night and I was robbed of my sleep
The breeze was howling and all the light of the day was sweeped
- I was sitting on wooden floor smooth yet uninviting
Was on my computer watching cars pass by, their light blinding
- I was watching a horror film one of the old cringy ones
Where there was crappy costumes and the victims were dumb
- Tripping on nothing, and screaming for help
While the monsters chased them giving strange yelps
- My sister asleep on the couch and father sick in bed
Nothing but the heater in this house that is quiet and dead
- Across the street is a bench for the public bus
There was people there but in a silent hush
- A hooded man and a teenage girl
Maybe their family I thought as I gave my heater another whirl
- Walked into the hallway while the floorboards creaked
Letting there existence be known as they leave an eerie screech
- I smack the heater till it comes to life and my errands done
Little do i know the night has just begun
- I check on my sister and to my surprise I find the window open
I hear the bus outside and watched it as it rode in
- It seems i barely made it to watch the girl get on the bus
It seems the hooded man went in first in a rush
- But to my alarm I saw the hoodie on the bench
Why did he leave it and what is this stench
- I close the window and give the hoodie one last glimpse
It looked similar to my dads gray, crappy and slim
- I go to my room and lay back down and draw my curtains
For I am sleepy and left uneasy that is for certain
- But an hour later the heater turns off
I thought I put it on longer i got up while i scoffed
- I reach for my door but it turns back on
Maybe my dad got up and did it for me, but i was wrong
- I grew nauseous for a reason I did not know
All the windows were closed yet the stench overflowed
- I open my door to the odor of metal
The lights were off and the house felt unsettled
- Some sort of liquid was under my dads door
It gave off the odor and flowed through the floor
- I stepped on it and it felt warm
And then the heater stopped and anxiety started to form
- I walked to the living room to check on my sister
I thought it was my dad hugging her but it was something more sinister
- It turned to hear my gasp for air
The creature had no eyes, ears, or hair
- It only had a smile that violently stretched
It’s unorganized pointed teeth in my mind it is etched
- It gave a numbing shriek and I fainted
I woke up to my living room red and tainted
- There on the wall I read as I shaked
“You are lucky you were awake”
- Twas a cold night and i was robbed of my sleep
The boogeyman ate my family while they were asleep
