Unnamed Part 2

she_was_torture

My heart twists at the roots,

I can't get you out of my head.

My thoughts run wild and loose, completely out of control.

Trying to rein them in, I grab the leashes I keep tried around.

They snap. I'm not strong enough to break the wave of you.

And I don't know what to do.

Restraining would leave me broken at the bottom of the ocean.

Going along would leave me heartbroken, hanging off the ends of the earth.

For now, I'll stay with it, but swim my own path.

I'll swim parallel to the shore- parallel to you.

Until I'm ready to veer left or right.

Until I'm strong enough to break your current hold on me, and go my own way.

But I'll hold on.

I'll hold on to the meaningless, yet indescribable conversations and looks.

I'll hold on to the smiles and laughter.

Until I can't.
