Rain-Drenched Sunny Hats.

kevin browne

Have you ever been to Amsterdam with St Nicholas in its place
Did we ever go where you never stood in Berlin and its grace?
Did you ever duck down in London if the bombing hit the blitz?
Funny looking people if everything they wear doesn't even fit.

Slow down just a little, is that Paris, Milan or just a jumbo jet
Butterflies are bullets when the Scotch and English make a bet.
Bejing in Chinese somehow it really mattered in Hong Kong
Sad looking people played Bali when it all blew up so wrong.

Heathrow's rain-drenched sunny hats fell off in South Brazil
Mexico it was then when the Sun had beaten them 110 to nil.
Picked the Amazon in a hurry and ate it all the way to Portugal
Pillars in Rome, Greece and its Greeks ended up in Donegal.

Whether you're a boy, girl, man, Mum, Dad or even a nobody
Telling stories on a park bench pretending to be somebody.
Sunny looking hilltops filled with sunshine far from the cities
Walk London and its bridges then you look back at its pity.

And, the French streets filled with bicycles and their bread
Beirut and its bollocks so you can lay down beside the dead.
Scotland and its highlands, the Whiskey will be coming soon
Stick with spices in Indian and the hot Deli sat upon the moon.

Calcutta on the edge of tigers with the feeding of its snakes
Living in Iraq if the children let you in to witness all the hate.
Cologne and its great Cathedral praying for another war
You'll know what I mean how life works and just what it's for.

Iceland and its fridges are too cold to warm up the North pole
Peru is a view of guns and its hardship take a bit or take it whole.
When the waves hit Indonesia did you set sail to where you are
Flaming flowers in Chelsea beat all the footballers from afar.

Bustling bridges across Sanfransico leading to a leap of death
With its honey sweet swell ocean leaving you its last breath.
Russia with its roulette wheels pays off when you win it twice
With lovers leaving in Luxembourg crying over something nice.

You go where you want to go if you're not there I'm sure to know
Egypt and its pyramids eat the Sun there's sure to be some snow
And, the heights of all the mountains where rivers start to fall
This world, planet and its Earth is by far the greatest of them all.
