Romance In The Trees

Poeta de Cabra

Colorful blossom, with smell heaven's scent
hand in hand with his love, his heart content
Dancing together bare foot on soft lush lawn
like a bug to bright light, to him she is drawn

Full moon lighting up gaps between the trees
whilst silver leaves flutter in nice cool breeze
Like a knight in shining armor, goes down on one knee
pulls out a ring and asks "Darling will you marry me?"

"Yes darling" she answers, he is enormously proud
and as if embarrassed the moon slid behind a cloud
He kissed her then, a kiss full of love and tenderness
as tears ran down her cheek, the tears of happiness

Night was quiet, seemed the whole world stood still
silence was broken by the singing of a whippoorwill
Danced all night they did to their own heart's beat
by early morning she had been danced off her feet

Beautiful night with Mother Nature such a great host
champagne cork popped as he proposed a toast
Engagement ring sparkled as stars shone from the sky
but it was nothing compared to the sparkle in her eye

Sky lit up by the moon with the smell of blossom to enhance
could not have had a better evening for love and romance
When the night started he was nervous with sweaty palms
ended as he had wished though, her asleep in his arms
