Singing That Same Old Tune - Poem by Shaniki L. Smith

ShanikiSmith

I' am a broken heart woman at war

caught in the middle of this love triangle

it's my biggest fight ever

A tug of war back and forth over

You

What's it going to be

her or me

I want to let you go and move on

because I feel you will never change

one false move and we are back at tug of war

again

it hurts

This heart can take no more flying bullets

This bulletproof vest can't hold any more bullets

I feel exhausted and tired

as this worried out body hits the floor

I want you back sometimes

and I don't want you at all

it's so bad

I know that I 'am singing the same old tune

Everyone can see it

It's so bad that when every I come around

Everybody seems to disappeared because the same old tune that I keep singing is hurting their precious ears

I don't mean to sing the same tune but

I just can't stop thinking

of you

Wow! If you're writing about it then you're aware of what others may be saying about you or you've realized your situation is hopeless.

Your words have a distinct meaning to you alone. Almost as if you know in your heart of hearts what you should do. Maybe it's time for a new song. 🙂

    Thanks for posting.
