Good bye Monster

I think I found the very thing that I have been afraid of my entire life, love

The thing that I watched break people a million times.

Like a  monster in the shadows,  love waiting for it's next victim,

all the teary eyes that watched me as I say it's over

the pleas for me to come back, knowing that I had out grown them

I knew that monster and I did everything in my power to stay one foot ahead of it

Always watching my back, to make sure I didn't fall into it's arms.

I refused to listen to it's sweet lies of forever and always, soul mates, 

I refused to have love blind me with it's claws of promises 

Then something changed, as if the shadow was removed 

All the was left was something pure 

I walked up and grabbed this pure feeling of warmth 

forgetting about my worries, fear of heart break, and every bad emotion

that was tied to love was gone.

With wide eyes, I walked into love with you, and it has been the best decision I have made yet.
