I Love Trees

pldabbs

There are some who love the earth,

Some who love wind,

Some who love the stars,

Some who love the moonlight,

Some who love their plants (they are living you know)

Some who love giving birth

Some who love a friend,

Some who love cars,

Some who love a good tune

Some who love Rembrandt (he was good painter you know)

Some who love buying new clothes,

Some who love their home, (both how it looks, and living there)

Some who love their money,

You can pretty much love anything you want

Any person you want, any pet you have

I have a fetish...I love trees!

Especially this one cause I love to squeeze you

And it’s as big around as you are!

  • Comment from author about the poem: The principle of 'love' in life is the most important thing any one of us can learn and practice in life. The Savior being the model, we should all strive to imitate His love for us.

    Christopher,

I enjoyed reading your beautiful poem! It made me think of Joni Mitchell’s song, “Big Yellow Taxi”!

A fine write! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for reading and for your comments Laura... I almost forgot about Joni Mitchell, it's been a long time since I've even heard her name mentioned. But now that you brought her into the picture I guess I could say that we've each seen the poem in a different light, or from 'Both Sides Now'.
