Joe Dawson

Don't judge me

Don't judge me by my splendour,

Don't judge me by my wealth,

Don't judge me by my backing band,

My groupies or my friends.

Don't judge me by my Roller,

Don't judge me by my yacht,

Don't judge me by my motorbike,

The bank might own the lot.

Don't judge me by my jewellery,

Don't judge me by my looks,

Don't judge me by my photographs,

They've all been well touched up.

Don't judge me by my talent,

Don't judge me by my watch,

Don't judge me by my latest hit,

It might just be a flop.

    Joe,

We won't judge what you have written,
since you wanted us to know.

May God direct the path you take -
Peace be with you as you go.

Nicely written and enjoyable poem. :-)

Thank you, Tamara Beryl Latham, both for liking my poem and your kind words which I value greatly. Like my prayer warrior elsewhere your kindness brings me joy and secretly directs my path. There is an abundance of happiness in poetry I find. Bless you. Joe

Thank you, Joe. Are you a songwriter? :)

      • Joe Dawson

Yes, I am a songwriter, I write lots of songs and sometimes what at first seems to be a poem suddenly becomes a lyric. Joe

Good write Joe, we can be all those things but we never know what is around the next corner, all we can do is accept it, good or bad, and move forward.

Yes, indeed, we must take what comes and be grateful for life - judge not, lest thee be judged - has much resonance in this world. Joe
