Savage Silence

_Asfer_

A man’s worst enemy is nature.

Or so they thought.

What if it’s something far more basic.

A bloodthirsty killer in disguise.

Silence.

The absence of noise is cruel to the mind

It will brutally yet painfully slowly murder your every bit of remaining sanity.

It masterfully plays with your mind, urging it to subconsciously fill the stillness in the air with the only thoughts you’ve been trying to bury.

The absence of noise is cruel to the mind.

Dark brooding ghastly thoughts that you attempt to conceal into the overlooked crevices of your awareness.

Some fight it by blasting music. Trying, yet miserably failing to drown out their nagging sorrows in some annoyingly limited tunes. Sorrows that never stop trying to break through

their self-restraint.

The absence of noise is cruel to the mind.

Some go as far as talking to themselves desperately attempting to stuff the air with blabbered nonsense.

Others surrender to those blissfully painful thoughts all the while knowing they’re slowly being lead to their destruction.

They allow themselves to be at the complete mercy of the pestilent serenity of their surroundings.

The absence of noise is cruel to the mind.

Awkward silence they say?

More like murderous, deathly. Luring naïve minds into what they’ll soon realize is their never after.

Soft, manipulative, seductive tunes, coaxing them to lie down in graves made of darkness, bedded with soft human skin – like covers, and pillows stuffed with white lies.

The absence of noise is definitely cruel to the mind.
