Journey

lonely poet

Facing away, I decided to travel
walking into forgotten memories,

wading, pulling myself out
of yesterday,
defying all logic and reason
along my journey,
collecting a lifetime of
misunderstandings.
The fields lay bare beneath my feet
moving forward, backwards,
stirring up relationships
that coat my eyes,
giving me a blindness
that ends my time
where it all began,
alone within the thoughts of
my own soul.

I think I have walked this journey too.

Where it all began, alone with the thoughts of my own soul
